According to the Regulations for Study and Examinations at Northern Border University Second Edition, 1445 AH 2024.
- A current NBU student may enroll as a visiting student at another recognized university or college in the same country provided that
- Study must be at a recognized university or college in the country of study.
- The student must have completed at least one semester at NBU.
- Prior approval from the student's college is required for the courses to be taken externally.
- The visiting request must be completed within the period specified in the academic calendar.
- The content of each external course must match the content of the corresponding course in the student's plan by not less than 70 percent, and the number of credit hours must be no less than that of the course in the plan. the concerned department verifies this.
- Course taken externally and transferred are recorded in the academic transcript with the grades warned and are counted in the cumulative GPA.
- The student must submit their academic transcript to the college within one week from the start of the first semester following the external visiting period. Otherwise, the student is considered Disrupted. excluding summer terms and the executive rules of Article 19 apply, with the standing committee for academic affairs empowered to grant exemptions.
- The total external coursework may not exceed 30 percent of the degree plan.

- An approved visiting form from Student's college or the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
- An approved and stamped academic transcript
- Course descriptions for the courses studied by the student.
Students from other universities visiting NBU (External Visits)
According to the Regulations for Study and Examinations at Northern Border University (Second Edition, 1445 AH 2024).
- The student has to obtain prior approval to study specific courses at NBU as a visiting student.
- The student must get approval of the college at NBU
- The visiting request must be completed within the period specified in the academic calendar.
- The visiting student is subject to all rules and regulations enforced at NBU.

- An approved visiting form from Student's home college and the university for the intended visit.
- An approved and stamped academic transcript
- Course descriptions for the courses studied by the student.
Studying in a different campus within NBU
According to the Regulations for Study and Examinations at Northern Border University (Second Edition, 1445 AH / 2024).
A student may register for courses at another campus within the university, subject to the following conditions
- The student must obtain approval from the home college to study a number of courses, and approval from the receiving college where the courses take place.
- Off campus registration must be within the same academic degree level (Diploma or Bachelor's).
- It is not permitted to register courses at two different campuses on the same day if the interval between the lectures is less than three hours.
- Registration procedures at the other campus must be completed within the period specified by the academic calendar.
